Want to learn more about herbs?  Do you have questions about an herb in your garden?  Where are some of the best places to purchase fresh herbs in the Bexar County area?  We have put together this list of local resources to help you on your herbal journey.

Fanick Garden Center and  Nursery - Located on the south part of the county they have been family owned and operated for 75 years.  Their knowledgeable staff can help you with your herb selections as well as vegetables, fruit trees and a host of other plants.  Great place to purchase pop up greenhouses to overwinter your plants.

Rainbow Gardens Nursery - With two locations in San Antonio Bandera Road and Thousand Oaks,.  Here you will find a large selection of plants for your garden as well as informative staff to answer your questions. 


Milberger Landscaping and Nursery
- Located  at Bulverde Road and 1604, Milberger Nurseries is an oasis of beautiful plants for sale. Great place for seasonal herbs and veggies for your garden. Very informative staff, willing to answer all your garden questions knowledgeably.

SAWS Garden Style - San Antonio Water System is committed to helping the local area learn more about low water use plants.  Check out their website where you can find information about some of the best water-wise plants to use in your landscape - no surprise, herbs are plentiful on the list!  They even have an area where you can design your own landscape based on your preferred look - cottage, hill country, butterfly garden, wild scape etc.

San Antonio Herb Society - With monthly meetings open to the public this group has some interesting speakers talking about a wide range of garden & herbal subjects.  Check out their meetings and get involved with this group of herb - lovers!

Bexar County Master Gardeners - Sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLIfe this group of volunteers supports many local gardening endeavors.  They even have a gardening hotline which you can call with your gardening questions.

Gardening Volunteers of South Texas - As a 501 c (3) organization,  GVST supports many projects and programs each year including schools, homeowner associations and "pop up" workshops around the city.  Their monthly workshops and classes that are open to the public. 

Nature's Herb Farm - The largest herb nursery in the San Antonio area has an excellent  website dedicated to plant information for south central Texas growing of herbs, native plants and succulents..  Check out this excellent resource.  naturesherbfarm.com
